This is for a school assignment where we had to design a game for deaf or hearing impaired children. I'm designing a rythmic platformer as an alternative experience for music sorta.
This is the background of a test lvl I'm working on and actually the first thing I've ever done in flash so forgive any flaws please enjoy!
(oh and if you download it it goes all crappy so ... just don't) x Elies
FLAWLESS It looks so incredibly beautiful. I would play the hell out of that game, with such design. I love, love, LOVE your style. It's so personal and fantastic and magical and askdjasfa. I really love it. Thanks for sharing <3
If I'm not mistaken you're using 2 layers here; one in the front and one in the back. And I can't help but get the feeling that creating a third layer for the firefly-like objects rather than putting them in the front layer would give a better result. Ofcourse you wouldn't want it to get too chaotic and distracting if you are to add more elements in the game.
I don't even know if what I suggest is possible or not but I thought I'd just share my thought.
On a more important note in fact, I really love the colour scheme and artstyle here; reminds me of Rayman for the first Playstation ^^
I actually did use a seperate layer for the fireflies and it looked kinda neat, but for the game preview I'm going to have to combine them anyway cause I don't want too much to be going on in the backgrounds. A whole bunch of platforms and character will still need to be added + the user interface so I thought I'd stick to 2 layers, but I'll definetly give it a try for the final preview!

means a lot to me, since I'm going to have to present it tomorrow and I'm nervous lol XD
